2017 POWER RANKINGS - WEEK FOUR
It's here: the 2017 ICF Power Rankings coming out of WEEK FOUR.
What are these rankings based on, you ask? Well, a history of winning matches is a good place to start, but participation points can also go a long way. These factors, combined with our unique, emotional, and unfair prejudices of the neighborhoods from which these clubs reside, bring us to this week's groupings of the best and the worst that ICF has to offer.
1. MAPLETON FC
As the only squad without a loss or draw this season, Mapleton FC may be an ambigious place, but their quality is clear....and their record unsullied.
2. MIDTOWN FC
A tough and heated loss last week against City Conference pillars Upper Downtown FC will test their ability to bounce back.
3. UPPER DOWNTOWN FC
With a goal differential of +9, UDFC is scoring well..but last week's red card and weekly complaints of rough play are sullying this record.
4. SPORTING HERRON MORTON
SHM is looking like the real deal more and more each week, a dangerous club to be reckoned with.
5. GARFIELD ATHLETIC CLUB
Garfield's solid record may be deceiving: they are at a -4 goal differential. Is this a sign of streaky play or something else?
6. Irvington FC
Currently resting in the middle of the table, IFC will need better defense to move up the ranks, having given up 13 goals this year.
7. AC MILE SQUARE
A renaissance of sorts is happening with ACMS, as their two wins this year already matches last year's total.
8. ATLETICO COTTAGE HOME
Scoring at will with the second most goals in the league, ACH will need to score more wins to move up our rankings.
9. OLD SPEEDWAY CITY
This team likes donuts: 0 volunteer points, 0 transit points, 0 challenge points. Goal differential? You guessed it: 0.
10. AC WOODRUFF PLACE
Where's the offense? ACWP has given up the second fewest goals this season, but is tied for the least amount scored.
11. MERIDIAN KESSLER UNITED
MKU's goal differential of -6 has them looking up at the the top half of the table, but another win vault them quickly.
12. REAL FLETCHER PLACE
Lucky folks? A 2-2 record should be considered a prize with their -10 goal differential through four matches.
13. OLD NORTH UNITED
The champs are struggling, having only one win in their first four matches. Time will tell if the winners' haze wears off.
14. MASS AVE UNITED
With only one win under their belt, this season has been a real kick in the kidney for the Mass Ave squad.
15. REAL WEST
Real West is feeling reeeeeal generous this year, giving up 14 goals so far in only four matches.
16. BATES-HENDRICKS FC
Conference leaders in transit, challenge, and volunteer points, BHFC will need a reminder that success on the pitch counts, too.
17. FC FOUNTAIN SQUARE
Rough times for FCFS - their conference lead in challenge points won't provide relief for their current struggles.
18. BROAD RIPPLE CITY
BRC is fourth in the league in goals, yet has conceded the most. Bad news for them is that the goals aren't getting any smaller.
