Meet the Manager: Julia Quattrini, AC Woodruff Place

Information distributors. Mediators. Example-setters. Or as we like to think of them, League ambassadors. Indy City Futbol very much appreciates the fine folks who step up as team managers, and so we'd like to highlight as many of them as we can throughout this season.

Years playing Indy City Futbol:

I was a professional super-sub in years 1 & 2, then finally registered but injured myself in year 4. So….I don’t really know.

Favorite ICF memory or moment that stands out?

When Teresa used to play…..that was cool.

How has ICF enabled you to feel more connected to the city/your community?

I moved to Indy 4 years ago not knowing anyone in the city, but I managed to find out about ICF. I started showing up on game-days and subbing for teams who needed more females, and just like that I was welcomed into a really awesome soccer community. It’s how I met most of my friends that I still have today, and it helped Indy start to feel like home.

What do you most look forward to this season?

Getting to know all my teammates even more. They cool.

Secret weapon?

I can’t tell you that.

Which team do you most look forward to handing an L?

We play Midtown FC this week and I’d love to beat Colton, but only because he threatened to steal my captain arm band.

Why will your team raise the trophy this year?

We have so many substitutes that it’s literally impossible for our team to show fatigue.

Any team rituals?

At halftime, we huddle in for a “goalie’s perspective” of how the game is going so far. It started with Jai just loudly offering his opinion, but it’s turned out to be a really great halftime strategy to keep the momentum going.

If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room, what would it be?

“Woman” by Kesha. But it would only play in my head so that I can feel awesome while remaining discreet.

Any last misc. comments/memories/ramblings/grievances?

I was a little nervous to be manager this year, but I’m glad I decided to sign up. ICF breathes life into the week.
