Former FC Fountain Square Manager Can't Wait to "Get That Damn [Trophy] Out" of His Apartment
It's been a long year for former FC Fountain Square Manager, Luke Boly. Since he was sidelined by a serious knee injury early in the 2017 season, Boly has undergone at least one major surgery and extensive rehabilitation. He decided to forgo the 2018 Indy City Futbol season after being with the team since its inaugural 2014 formation. While he’s been disappointed to miss this season, Boly has used his newly found Wednesday night freedom searching for solace at Fountain Square’s Nine Lives Cat Cafe.
It was just less than a year ago that Boly and FC Fountain Square took back the Golden Growler trophy from area rival Bates-Hendricks FC. The Golden Growler was crafted by BHFC's Sam Something in May 2016. The trophy has exchanged owners a number of times throughout the last two years, as the neighborhoods took part in numerous sportball battles.
Tonight, the teams face off in Indy City Futbol's Game of the Week. Offshore bookies give BHFC a slight edge, as FCFS focuses on improving team chemistry among its many new team members. Bates-Hendricks bookies have BHFC odds at a win at 1526:1, and are taking bets in U.S. cash, bitcoin and clean needles.
In texts obtained by ICF Media, Former Manager Boly expressed relief in returning the trophy to Central Green Fields for the match; its presence a constant reminder of days gone by. Plus, the monstrosity has occupied valuable real estate usually reserved for board games and Star Wars universe books.
When asked to comment further on his disappointing sentiment, Boly replied with, "No hablo ingles. No comprendo," which translates to "I don't speak English. I don't understand."
