We hope y'all stick around to watch the championship match-up at 8!
And now, for ICF Media's totally scientific predictions:
6 p.m. — Quarterfinals
#2 Sporting Herron Morton vs. #10 Real Fletcher Place
We haven’t predicted a blowout yet, but all good things have to come to an end. These teams met in Week 4 and it wasn’t pretty. Sporting Herron Morton blanked RFP 3-0 and reports say that the referees waived off two more goals because they didn’t feel it was very “sporting” of the SHM squad to rub it in. It’s good RFP has cell phone repair on their side because a phone or two may be thrown after facing SHM’s stifling defense.
Prediction: Sporting Herron Morton wins 3-0

#4 Midtown FC vs. #5 Upper Downtown FC
Talk about a delectable match-up! Midtown FC vs. Upper Downtown FC. They both have Yats to share as common ground, but other than that, they are enemies! These squads met in Week 4 and Midtown held what looked more like a training exercise than a game, winning 3-0. However, Upper Downtown has newly found purpose after winning in PKs last week. It will be fun and fast, but it looks like Midtown is going to be the winner of the two most ambiguously represented areas.
Prediction: Midtown FC wins 3-2
Fan Graphs: 62% of ICF fans are picking Midtown FC
#14 Old Speedway City vs. #11 Mapleton FC
Let’s be honest. We all knew this was going to happen. We all picked it. Who are we to doubt our future overlords from Mapleton FC? On the other side, Old Speedway City has been coming together over the past few weeks, so in all seriousness, their upset over AC Mile Square shouldn't have been a surprise. These two squads met in week 9 and it ended in a 1-1 draw. I think it’s safe to expect the same outcome.
Prediction: Mapleton wins 1-1 (3-2 in PKs)
Fan Graphs: 59% of ICF fans are picking Mapleton
7 p.m. Semi-finals
AC Woodruff Place vs. Winner of #4/#5 (Prediction Midtown FC)
These two titans squared off in a doozy of a match in week 5. It went back and forth and back forth. There were soccer balls kicked. Players ran. Blood pressures (and tempers) soared. But the records show AC Woodruff Place won 3-2. That’s enough to tell us that AC Woodruff Place can do it again.
Prediction: AC Woodruff Place wins 3-2
Fan Graphs: 53% of ICF fans are picking AC Woodruff Place
Winner of #2/#7 (Prediction Sporting Herron Morton) vs. Winner of #11/#14 (Prediction Mapleton)
Advanced stats: Sporting Herron Morton has scored 5 or more goals in 8 of their 12 games this season. Need more? We don’t really have anything else. Except, it’s rumored that all Mapleton players have a map of Herron Morton on their bathroom mirrors will a bullseye in red ink. Intense! We recommend putting the kids to bed early, so they don’t have to watch this one.
Prediction: Sporting Herron Morton wins 5-2
Fan Graphs: 70% of ICF fans are picking Sporting Herron Morton
8 p.m. — Championship
#1 AC Woodruff Place vs. #2 Sporting Herron Morton
The Commish will probably have to implement drug testing after this one. Us mere mortals don’t want to see chalk, but this game is how the soccer gods intended. #1 vs. #2! AC Woodruff Place definitely has the advantage of not having to have playe a 6 p.m. game—and that will be all of the difference. Sporting Herron Morton has been extremely formidable all year, but 3 games in 3 hours will prove too much.
Prediction: AC Woodruff Place is crowned champion 3-1
Fan Graphs: 65% of ICF fans are picking AC Woodruff Place
UPDATE: An earlier version of this article stated that Sporting Herron Morton defeated Mapleton FC 3-0 in a week 10 match. That match never happened.
